Networks, Netwars, and the fight for the Future by David Ronfeldt and John Arguilla.
While reading this article, or novel, I kept thinking to my self, if we never had the Internet or anyway to gather information quicker, then we would not have all of these terrorist attacks and problems. Maybe we should just do away with the Internet and keep the pen and paper handy and the telephone, go back when there was no Internet, there were hardly any problems. But the problem is, once you have something, and it is taking away from you, it is very hard to adjust. But terrorists can gather information about weapons, information how to build bombs, pretty much they can get whatever they need on the Internet and fast. They communicate amongst each other and plan there attacks on the Internet as well. I also read in a article on the web, that most Internet sites are over looked by professional staff, but if they have to be over looked and watched, then why are we allowing these sites to be put up with dangerous information. I know the Internet is a large and wide spread of information and sites, but I think there should be some form of REAL protection on what can be published on the Internet.
The Internet is a wonderful tool, but people abuse it and take advantage of it to start wars, or just to start trouble. It should be used to its fullest ability, but not abused in a bad way.
The Long Tail by Chris Anderson.
Its funny because when I saw Chris Anderson, I just thought of my brother right away because that is his name and hes not a writer. But anyway.
Reading the article made me realize more that allot of people do there shopping online. From buying books, Cd's, DVDS, cloths and much much more online had grown over the years. As stated in the article, the Book "Touching the Void" only started to sell because of an Amazon.com recommendation from people buying the book, "Into Thin Air". It is amazing how a book no one knows about can suddenly be on the best sellers list. When I have bought DVDs on Amazon.com, it also does recommendations, but I have never considered any of them, next time I may.
The online world today is growing and growing. Ill admit it, I have done my share of illegal song downloads on the illegal programs, I know most of you all have done your share as well. But once they are done away with, I would purchase either iTunes or Rhapsody. It makes it much easier to buy the songs you are looking for, rather then buy the CD and skip over the crappy songs you don't like, like the article talks about. With a large library of songs, and a large variety of genre's, people can pick and buy songs exactly what they want, rather then having songs that they don't want and don't need.

I feel like people take the internet for granted. They use it to their advantage and then abuse it by putting articles and information that is not true for other people to use.
